After advancing to the semifinals for the first time since 2000, the members of the Glendale High boys’ water polo team have outlined goals for next season.

Glendale saw its season come to a close Wednesday with an 18-14 overtime loss to top-seeded Webb in a CIF Southern Section Division VI semifinal match in Irvine.

Glendale first-year Coach Forest Holbrook, who was hired in late June, said he’ll have ample time to watch the Nitros condition and prepare for the rigors of next season.

“I had four months with this team and look how far we were able to get,” Holbrook said. “We will have a great group of kids coming back. I expect nothing more than better things next season.”

Glendale will return Gor Asryan, Martin Narinyan and Haik Chatalyan next season, all of whom played staring roles this season for the Nitros.
