From the Glendale News Press:

GLENDALE — An additional 15 youths will be placed in jobs through the Glendale Youth Alliance, under an allocation plan approved by the Verdugo Workforce Investment Board Executive Committee.

The committee approved the transfer of $21,000 in stimulus funds originally awarded to Goodwill Southern California to the Glendale Youth Alliance Thursday because Goodwill was not able to use all of the $130,00 they were granted last summer, according to a staff report.

The workforce board had an additional $2,000 in savings available that was also allocated to the youth alliance.

The organization has a waiting list of youth not served during the summer employment program, so the funds will allow 15 of them to be connected with jobs by Dec. 31, according to the report.
