Glendale Adventist gets gold star

Glendale Adventist Medical Center got the 2009 Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award from the American Stroke and American Heart associations, officials announced today.

The medical center received the award because it has taken various steps in ensuring the health and well-being of its stroke patients under the associations’ guidelines.

To get the award, the medical center had several guidelines to follow.

They had to comply to the association’s Get with the Guidelines-Stroke performance guidelines and to adhere to at least 85 % of the rules for a year.

The medical center also had to comply to at least six of 10 quality measures. They earned a 75% or higher on the measures.
