Though the Burbank High boys’ water polo team didn’t qualify for the CIF Division VI playoffs, its been a gracious host for Glendale-area water polo programs.

The Hoover and Crescenta Valley water polo teams will take part in postseason matches at the venue because those school’s pools do not meet CIF specifications for a playoff contest.

Hoover met Rowland in an opening-round match Tuesday.

Crescenta Valley, the reigning CIF champion, will battle Arroyo Valley or Oxnard in a second-round match at 6 p.m. Thursday.
