Gasparyan fights to draw

For the second time in as many fights, Glendale boxer Vito “Casper” Gasparyan walked away from a bout with his corner dismayed by the judges’ decision.

On Friday night in Ontario at the Doubletree Hotel, Gasparyan fought to a six-round majority draw with Pavel Miranda in a welterweight bout.

“It’s really annoying,” said Gasparyan’s trainer, Justin Fortune, who disputed Gasparyan’s six-round decision loss to Jermell Charlo in August. “This is what [screws] boxing.”

[Vito] won five of the six [expletive deleted] rounds.”

One judge had it 58-56 for Gasparyan, while the other two scored it 57-57.

Gasparyan’s record now stands at 11-2-5, while Miranda is 16-4-1.
