Glendale defeats Hoover… in chalk

GHS GGlendale High partisans are claiming victory over the Hoover High  “H” on the hillside above Brand Boulevard.

A News-Press photo taken Wednesday afternoon clearly showed a damaged chalk “H,” but no “G” (for GHS).

Today, a Glendale High graduate said a ‘G’ had, in fact, been made and provided a photo — taken earlier in the day — to prove it.

The two high schools, long time rivals, are scheduled to go head-to-head on the football field next week.

If anyone else has photos, send them our way: gnp@latimes.com.
