Pastor Clifford L. “Skip” Lindeman was selected as La Canada Congregational Church’s permanent pastor, it was announced on Monday by the pastor himself.

After serving as an interim pastor for the last seven years, Lindeman was elected into his new position on Sunday by his church’s conference office.

“Usually, interims don’t become the permanent or ‘called’ pastors,” said Lindeman in an e-mail. “However, I have been here for seven years and two search committees have looked at over 300 resumes, and finally our conference office essentially gave the church the okay to select me.”

The church was renamed this year to more clearly reflect its affiliation with the United Church of Christ. The church, at 1200 Foothill Blvd. in La Canada was formerly known as Church of the Lighted Window.
