CITY HALL — The Department of Energy announced Tuesday that Glendale and Burbank will each receive $20 million to help fund the installation of smart meters that track real-time water and electricity usage.

CITY HALL — A “taxi war” between rival cab companies came to an end Tuesday when the City Council voted unanimously to uphold a commission decision preventing a sixth company from entering the Glendale market. In June, the Transportation & Parking Commission voted 3 to 2 to deny an application from United Taxi of the South-West for a permit allowing one of its taxis to pick up customers within Glendale.
