Public meeting on mudflows planned

leave a comment »

City officials have scheduled a second community meeting on plans to guard against potential mudflows for Nov. 2 at Clark Magnet High School.

Officials will display maps for areas at risk for mudflows during the rainy season and go over emergency evacuation plans for local schools. They will also update the public on recovery plans for neighborhoods and the Deukmejian Wilderness Park, which like much of the foothills above La Crescenta and north Glendale, were left barren by the Station fire.

Residents will also have the opportunity to sign up for volunteer programs.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the high school, 4747 New York Ave., La Crescenta. For more information, call (818) 548-2000.
