LCHS is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the 1979 football team’s CIF championship tonight in a ceremony before the football game for against Blair at 7 p.m.

The game is also homecoming for the high school. Homecoming king and queen will be announced at halftime.

The 1979 team was the first and only football team to win CIF for La Cañada.

Coordinators of the event, which include 1979 football team members John Paton and Chris Myers, sent out an evite and created a facebook page to help get in contact with other team members who may have lost contact with one another.

The itinerary for the celebration via the evite (and a really cool photo of a program from 1979) is after the cut:

10-23-09

5:00 PM BBQ in Senior Area $10.00 per person includes Sausages, sides and sodas. Bring the family!

6:30 PM Report to locker room for pre-game speech.

7:00 PM Kick off and coin flip with team captains. Half-time introduced by Jim Harvey.

After game party at Dan Fehan’s house. Thanks Big Dan.

10-24-09

Picnic at Jim Curry’s mom’s house. Bring your own beverage. Tacos will be served.
