Local squads set to take Mt. SAC

A total of 10 cross-country teams from area high schools are set to compete in the 62nd annual Mt. SAC Cross-Country Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Mount San Antonio College in Walnut.

On Friday, St. Francis High will kick things off in the Division III Varsity Blue race at 1:30 p.m. before Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy runs in the Division IV Green team sweepstakes at 4:58 p.m. Flintridge Prep will deploy its girls’ team in the Division V Yellow team sweepstakes at 5:30 p.m. and the Rebels boys are slated to run in the Division V Blue team sweepstakes at 5:45 p.m.

Saturday’s action will get started with Glendale’s boys’ squad taking part in the Division I Varsity Green race at 7:37 a.m. The Nitros girls will run in the Division I Varsity Red race at 8:11 a.m. Crescenta Valley’s boys’ team is entered in the Division I Varsity Blue race set to begin at 7:57 a.m. and the Falcons’ girls’ squad will take to the course shortly thereafter for the Division I Varsity Green race at 8:32 a.m.

Hoover closes the meet in the boys’ Division III Varsity Green race at 3:27 p.m., while the Tornadoes’ girls are in the Division II Varsity Red race at 4:03 p.m.
