Glendale FD: Stay safe on Halloween

leave a comment »

Glendale Fire Department officials have invited residents to stop by local fire houses for treats on Halloween.

The Fire Department also provided some tips for parents to keep their children safe on Halloween.

  • Never leave children unattended.
  • Obtain flashlights with fresh batteries for all children and their escorts.
  • Always keep Jack O’ Lanterns and hot electric lamps far away from flammable materials or near walkways that children and pets may frequent.
  • Wait until children are home to sort and check treats.
  • Drive carefully when driving in neighborhoods that children are trick-or-treating.

Plan costumes that are bright and reflective. Make sure that costumes are short enough to prevent tripping.
